Make a DIY Floral Arrangement to Balance Your Chakras
It is easy and inexpensive to make rustic, casual, farmhouse-style DIY floral arrangements to balance your chakras using weeds and flowering vegetables. In this post learn how making a DIY flower bouquet can open your chakra energy centers, which chakra is activated by picking the flowers, adding height, color, arranging the floral elements, and which chakras align when you let yourself appreciate the beauty of the floral arrangement once it is complete. If you don’t know where to start, this post will be perfect for you.
I live in the country and enjoy bringing the outside in by making casual, rustic DIY farmhouse-style floral arrangements. I also am very aware of my chakra energy points. When I walk and pick elements for my flower bouquets, I feel at peace, calm, connected, and grounded. This is because I am activating my chakras.
PICK THE FLOWERS
There is something meditative about walking in the country looking for elements for a rustic farmhouse chic bouquet. The heart chakra naturally opens and balances as you connect to nature and the root chakra opens and helps you calm anxiety. To clarify, I am not talking about picking wildflowers which is illegal. I am referring to picking beautiful looking weeds and plants that can be found growing abundantly in fields, farmyards, and pastures as well as adding elements and flowers from your flower bed and garden.
Since I was going for a casual modern farmhouse-style floral bouquet, I picked some barnyard daisies. Barnyard daisies are also known as camomile or scentless camomile, and they are a noxious week here in Saskatchewan so they are easy to find and abundant on roadsides, farmyards, pastures, shelterbelts and fields. The daisy has a yellow center surrounded by delicate white petals. It is easy to cut and adds a whimsical romantic yet rustic element that nourishes the feminine energy of the sacral chakra. ADD HEIGHT
Don’t be concerned about the guideline that says your tallest element in a DIY arrangement should be at least one and a half times the height of the container. Use your best judgement and do what feels right for you. By following your instincts you will be activating the flow in your chakra energy points. For my floral bouquet, I added prairie sage which is an abundant native species of weed on the prairies. With its silvery-grey leaves and a distinct sage aroma it added a great height element to my rustic bouquet in addition to adding a wonderful scent that can be used to clear chakra blockages when used as a smudge.
ADD COLOR CONTRAST
Staying with the casual, rustic, natural theme for making my inexpensive DIY floral arrangement to balance chakras, I added radish flowers from our garden. I found the pink flowers contrasted nicely with the barnyard daisies and prairies sage. Get creative when looking for color contrast, activate your sacral chakra, and see what you have around that you can use. Here are some ideas: use interesting colored weeds, flowering weeds (like barnyard daisy), and vegetable flowers from your garden (like radish flowers), colored bushes or trees with interesting leaves. How to arrange your DIY bouquet
Check out my post on how to make a barnyard daisy bouquet for tips and ideas on how to arrange your elements. To balance your chakras while you are making your flower arrangement, let your intuition and creativity flow to open your third eye chakra and your sacral chakra. As you select the vase, the flowers, your contrasting color elements, and height elements tie them all together with the twine, let yourself be fully immersed in the experience, follow your inner guidance, and enjoy the process. It is not about perfection, it is about the experience!
Enjoy your DIY bouquet and balance your chakras
Once your DIY project is complete, make sure you allow yourself the time to appreciate the beauty of your floral creation to reset your internal GPS. Taking the time to acknowledge what you’ve done will activate your solar plexus energy center and the feeling of empowerment. It will balance your heart chakra as well as you let yourself feel the gratitude.
That’s it! You don’t have to live in the country to make this casual DIY floral arrangement, you can look for inspiration in your flower beds and garden like I did. Use flowering noxious weeds like the barnyard daisy, garden vegetables like the flowering radish, and colorful bushes to design the perfect rustic bouquet. Then, make sure you let yourself fully enjoy the process of picking the elements, arranging the flowers, and making the arrangement; to get the most out of balancing your chakras.
