How I Clear Negative Energy
Did you know that negative energy is heavy? It can make you feel tired, sad, overwhelmed, and even depressed, and taking steps to protect and clear your energy can make you feel better.
Are you regularly clearing negative energy from your body? Maybe you’re thinking: Oh no, not another thing I need to add to my to-do list. Here's the thing. Negative energy can be picked up from people we meet, places we go, objects we are around, the food we eat, emotions we feel, and relationships we are part of.
This is why I’m so excited to share with you some easy ways I clear negative energy from my aura. Whether you’re an empath (with strong emotional chakras), an intellectual (with strong head chakras), or a get it done type of person (with strong back chakras) these tools will help you heal and clear negative energy from your body.

Why clearing negative energy is important
Clearing negative energy is based on Albert Einstein's philosophy that “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.” These days, surrounding yourself with positive energy is more important than ever! You can create energy pockets that support you where the structure does the protection for you.
When you live in this state of ‘energy’, it’s not about surviving. It’s about feeling the way you want to feel and attracting the things you want into your life.
How I clear negative energy
SMUDGE WITH SAGE GRASS
It’s no secret that many of us have trouble sleeping at night. Getting eight hours of uninterrupted sleep sounds like a dream but instead many of us have the nightmare of hours spent tossing and turning with our minds rolling through our endless to-do lists. When this happens to me, the first thing I do is smudge the bedroom.
Sage grass smoke clears environments of lower vibrations and is especially beneficial in bedrooms where we spend a lot of time sorting through emotions, worrying about finances, and sorting through our personal woes. Try smudging your bedroom with sage grass during the day to allow the smell and energies to dissipate before going to bed.
Still, feel off? Smudge your chakras as negative energy can accumulate there as well!
USE HIMALAYAN SALTS
It’s just osmosis. Himalayan salt has the ability to pass through semipermeable membranes like the skin drawing out low vibrational energy with its strong grounding energy. How do I know this? I feel it.
I spend most days in my office, writing, sitting cross-legged with cats on my lap so when I have to go out in public, I can be sensitive to energies around me and have to be careful I don’t get overwhelmed and take them on as my own.
If you’re empathic and sense other people's emotions, soak in a Himalayan salt bath. It's a natural purifier with a high vibrational frequency that counteracts negative energy which is low vibration, and its stored energy also promotes detoxification and chakra healing.
MEDITATE WITH CRYSTALS
Meditating with crystals is not something I grew up dreaming about or envisioning for myself. When I started meditating, I believed meditation tools were not required. However, as my meditation journey has transitioned from counting breaths to using mala beads to what it is now, I started to look at my practice and ways to use it to unblock chakras.
When I decided to meditate with crystals, I did not anticipate the sensitivity it would take to feel the energy. I love crystals and sleep with them every night but learning how to consciously absorb the energy into my body and use it to clear my chakras was a new experience altogether!
Crystals help us reconnect to the earth and her soul, by meditating with a healing crystal such as kyanite for the solar plexus chakra you can open it and clear blockages that may be affecting your self-confidence and how you feel about yourself.
GET THE AIR MOVING IN YOUR HOUSE
During my meditations, I pay very close attention to my meditation environment. I prepare my meditation space before sitting down to make sure it is full of positive high vibrational energy which feels good and will support me so I can fully relax and enjoy. If the energy in the room feels stuck or heavy and dense, it can make you feel unwell and tired, and overwhelmed.
If you aren't able to smudge to clear it out, try opening some windows! It’ll facilitate air movement and clear stagnant energy.
SPEND TIME IN NATURE
Give yourself credit for the things you do well to protect your energy. For you, it may be practical things like exercising to boost energy levels and eating a variety of foods to get essential nutrients. You may pay very close attention to your emotions and use daily positive affirmations. You may also be very cognizant of boundaries and put self-care practices in place to protect yours. What else can you do? Spend time in nature and with animals.
Allowing yourself to be fully present when in nature or with animals can help raise your vibration and synchronize it to a healthy level. Plants and animals have a natural ability to thrive and grow, so take advantage of it and feel into their energy. Let yourself enjoy the vibrations and the bonds of all living creatures. Open your heart chakra and recharge, release, and cleanse!
I know not every reader is sensitive to negative energy, or doesn’t want to be, or maybe you’re where I was a few years ago, experiencing overwhelm and all the things that come with it.
